Eastview Elementary reported 175 absences on Monday, over one-fourth of their student body. With the countries swine flu concerns growing, many parents and faculty members are suggesting closing the school until the illnesses are contained. Despite five of the illnesses being confirmed as the swine flu, no official decision has been made regarding closing the school.

This is a simple and wonderful review. I can't believe over one-fourth of their student body was absent! I hope it doesn't hit ARCC like that.
ReplyDeleteHi Brett--
ReplyDeleteThis was a good summary of the swine flu at an elementary school.
Dr. Phil Sidell, family doctor, says to expect a milder form, similar to other cases of influenza in the past.
However, I've heard national predictions that up to 25 percent of students could become infected on college campuses. That's pretty sobering when considering where we spend most of our time during the semester!

ReplyDeleteMistakes:
• Eastview Elementary is singular, thus it should be "its" not "their."
• Should be country's, singular and possessive.
